The 31 years old was released by Negeri Sembilan after short stint there, and make a tough decision before agree to return to his former club.

The former Sri Pahang player chose to return to The Red Giants instead of accepting one of the offers from the Thai league.

“I received several offers from the Thai League but after discussing with both my parents, they suggested that it is best for me to stay in the Malaysian League for the last six months of the season, which undoubtedly with Selangor FC.”

I hope to form a good understanding with my new teammates ahead of our next match,” Safuwan added.

The former Melbourne City right back also excited to play under new coach, Tan Cheng Hoe and want to impress him to gain the spot in the first team.

Safuwan made 37 appearances during his three seasons spell with Selangor FC. However, his injury in the last six months of last season caused him to decide to leave the team.
